James Richärd , AIA

James Richärd, AIA is the architectural design principal of Richard & Bauer Architecture, a studio based, architectural and interiors practice focusing primarily on Higher Education, Research, Public and Academic Library design. The firm was founded in 1996 by James Richard AIA and Kelly Bauer IIDA.

Mr. Richärd was educated at the University of Arizona, College of Architecture 1980-85. As a Designer with a large A/E firm in the Tucson Sonoran Desert, he developed a special sensitivity to the context of the region and environment. Formative years within large firm reinforced the idea that the largest of projects were executed by a small group of dedicated people with a common vision. To that end, the firm remains an intimate scale of 10 highly skilled and motivated people.

Over it's ten year history the firm has garnered over fifty local, regional, national and international design awards. The firm was recognized as an “Emerging Voice of 2001” from the Architectural League of New York, one of the “New Vanguard” by Architectural Record in 2002 and most recently "Designers of the year" by Contract Magazine in 2007.
